Directed Studies Teacher: August 2022 - Present

This is really my opportunity to get my feet wet in the world of teaching. With this class, I can create lesson plans that reflect content that I desire to share with students. Although the primary focus of this class will be to complete work for other classes, I have the flexibility to create content that help mold youth to do better and be better. Content will include topics that address self-improvement, mental health, and study tips.

Instructional Assistant: July 2021 - Present

I am currently a Full-time student, but I wanted to give back to my community in the meantime. This job has allowed me to be myself for the first time in a workplace setting. Working with students gives me true joy. Plus,  I am able to bring techniques from the business world into a school setting. This opportunity not only helped me to engage with students, but it also gave me the chance to apply persuasion techniques in-person versus over the phone. Duties Include: Assisting teachers with classroom management, assisting students with IEP's with testing, homework and class assignments

Geico Local Office

Insurance Advisor: June 2020 - July 2021

It was at this job that my eyes were opened to the necessity of an education in technology. I realized while working on marketing projects, how sales, marketing, and technology go hand in hand and is needed no matter which career field I chose. I felt behind. I decided to do something about it and immersed my self in technology and marketing education.

Duties included: 

  • Led office in sales while cold-calling 100-150 prospective clients per day.

  • Logged and tracked sales; advised potential customers about relevant insurance products.

  • Followed up on all leads by phone and email.

  • Maintained direct communication with existing customers to capitalize on cross-selling opportunities

  • Effectively applied discovery, qualification, and negotiation techniques

Worked with service agent and marketing coordinator to effectively close deals as a team

I am so grateful to have worked for a company like Geico. This job unleashed my competitive nature and I was able to build exceptional sales techniques that I can take anywhere! Duties included: 

  • Consistently exceed monthly sales quotas by closing deals for clients initially inquiring for quote only

  • Bind insurance contracts accurately to ensure retention and new customer satisfaction

  • Exceed company customer survey response expectations through customer-focused approaches to ensure high quality service

  • Named 2018 Leader of Sales by exceeding mid-year new business targets

  • Achieved Bronze and Silver Tier Chairman’s Club status for exceeding annual new business targets and consistently remaining in top 10% of regional sales agents
